The Hamilton City Council has now received six proposals for housing developments to be recognised as Special Housing Areas.
Of the six proposals, one is ready to present to Government however the other five need more work to be fully formed. Hamilton City Councillors voted for staff to continue with the preparation of all five proposals.
The six sites altogether would offer Hamilton 2,000 new homes.
